Lace Up, Dress Up, and Run for a Good Cause
Halloween comes to the streets of downtown Ringgold with the Nightmare on Nashville Street 5K. Runners and walkers set off from downtown and follow the course down a spooky nature trail, and costumes are highly encouraged, whether you’re chasing a personal best or just out for a fun fall evening.
Choose a timed 5K if you’re racing the clock or an untimed 5K if you’d rather take it at your own pace. Every registration includes a race sweatshirt, and performance awards go to the fastest male and female runners in each age bracket.
Now in its fourth year, the race is hosted by the Evitt Foundation, a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) that supports child welfare and works to reduce hunger in North Georgia. 100% of proceeds benefit children and families in the community.
Making a day of it? Start your morning at the Rabbit Valley Farmers Market from 9 AM to 1 PM, let the kids trick or treat at downtown businesses from noon to 3 PM, and swing by the Catoosa County Library’s Trunk or Treat at the Colonnade from 3 to 5 PM before race-day packet pickup. After you cross the finish line, the Ringgold Haunted Depot is open until 11 PM, and The Ringgold Playhouse presents An Evening With Edgar Allan Poe at 7 PM for anyone not running.
