A Living Tribute to Catoosa County’s Fallen
Every May and November, the streets of Downtown Ringgold are transformed. More than 2,000 flags and crosses rise across the city to honor the fallen soldiers who called Catoosa County home. It’s one of the most moving sights in the area, and it’s been a Ringgold tradition in some form since the 1970s.
The Festival of Flags runs for two weeks surrounding each holiday. Flags go up one week before Memorial Day or Veterans Day and come down one week after. Residents and visitors can experience this display by driving or walking through downtown to take in the tribute.
